    Feb 5 already?

    Time flies!

Not much going on. We have been looking at houses, but everything in our price range is awful. We've been here a year already (WOW) and we're gonna stay in the complex for at least another 6 months.

James has another karate grad on the 24th (every 2 months) He'll be a camo belt. He's still moody but doing well in school. I can't believe he'll start kindergarten this year!

We are going to a super bowl party tonight (the other manager from Joe's) I don't like football, so the food better be good! ;)

I have made 3 tote bags in the last couple of weeks. But between work and Karate we don't have much spare time.

James took a three day weekend (w.end after next) so we're gonna take l. James to see Curious George. Karate is also having a "parent's night out" so we're gonna go out to dinner, not sure what else.

I think that's all the news I can think of.
    22 januari

    Hello!

It's been nice all this week so yesterday we went to the beach to play while we waited for James to finish up at work. Since it was only 65* I am sure the water was cold but there were still some crazy people swimming!

James found a huge hole dug in the sand so plopped down by it and he jumped in. Then some more kids came and started to dig with him. He had fun and was mad when it was time to leave.

The weather has been nice here, but we have been one or two days of really cold weather. I hate that it changes so quickly.

I have been asked to stay at work. Instead of being let go after 90 days I will stay on, still only for 3 hours. I was glad they asked me so that at least I can have a job while I am out looking for a better one. I am still searching all the banks in hopes that one by me will be hiring, no such luck as of yet.

I think that's all the news I have for now. Between work and Karate we don't much time for anything else.

    09 januari

    Holy Cow!

Where have we been???? Just here is all. We haven't anything new going on, and I completely forgot about this website, isn't that awful?

I updated the template for Valentine's Day. I was hoping for something springy but this was the best I could do with what's available.

I loved the christmas cards from Darci and Carrie. How big the kids are! I have only seen Jack and Ava once I think and never charlotte. It's a shame how good looking all the children are. They should be modeling too aunt Barbi!

I haven't taken any pictures since Christmas, but since it's warming up I am sure we will be outside more. It was about 75* today. But we're supposed to have another cold front (and hard freeze) this weekend. It's amazing that it can be 30* at night but 60* or higher during the day. It's really nice, except for lugging the plants back and forth.

I have started to make a rag rug. I am no where near finished but I don't think it should take too long. I have decided to make a quilt, just need to buy some more material and a how too guide. I think I may get the quilting for dummies book. I don't want to make anything too fancy, and even though I have had some ideas from people at work I still have some questions.

I can't believe it is 2006 already. This is a big year for us, James starts kindergarten, YIKES! I can't believe time has gone so quickly. I am trying to plan an Ohio vacation, but with James' busy season and little starting school (they go back the 2nd week in aug) it's gonna be tough. I will make it though. I want to go to Cedar Point and Niagra Falls. I MUST! :)

I think that's about it for now. If I think of anything else I'll be back!

    25 december

    Christmas run down.

We're about to sit down now to dinner and let me say the prime rib is FABULOUS. I wish you all were here to enjoy it with us.

We got some good gifts this year. Thank you Annie and Chris!

I love the color wonder kits Aunt Barbi sent, AWESOME.

James has a full set of dinosaurs nows and loves his bike.

    More later!
    24 december

    Merry Christmas!

I'm on my way to bed.

We had a very nice day today, even though I missed out on Dana's birthday dinner!

I cleaned, James baked and little James ran circles around us. We went to St Augustine around 6pm to see all the lights. It was very pretty! We came home for a late dinner and then made "Santa's" cookies. James had a bath a story and off to bed he went, though he didn't fall asleep until 10 or so. Elder James put the bike together with no problem and no extra tools. Santa presents are under the tree and the video camera is on the tripod, charged and ready to go. I eventually found my battery charger for the digital camera, so that's ready too.

We're having Prime Rib for dinner tomorrow, with rosemary roasted red potatos (say that 10x fast, hehe) as for the rest I am not sure of the details. James made a red velvet cake and I am making some brownies. I made them for James' Karate instructors and they looked sooo good!

I still haven't mastered the "night" mode on my camera. The pictures still look awful. I read the manual again and seem to be doing it properly. So we'll pretend it's the cameras fault.

Well, I'm pretty tired and I have to wake up before little James (7am or so) to start the video rolling!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
    21 december

    Yellow belt

James is one belt closer :)

They didn't seperate graduation by class this time, so it was long and painful. James did his best to show "self control" and a "black belt attitude" but even I was fidgeting long before it was over. And I my camera battery ran out so I was lucky to get even the few pictures I did take. When will I ever learn? I had the video camera charged but not my regular. And now I can't find the charger!

Time to get ready to go. I need to run to world market and we have class at 4.

    20 december

It's time for a new belt

Graduation is tonight. James will be getting his yellow belt. If his teacher signs his good behavior sheet. He wasn't following directions yesterday so I don't know how that'll go, since the sheet wasn't in with his teacher's note. If she marks off that he is not doing well he won't graduate. Of course one bad day shouldn't hold him back, but we'll see. Or maybe she thought I didn't need it back today, since I didn't tell her that!

I am going to try to take some pictures and this time I won't waste my memory card on other people's children! So check back this evening.
    18 december

    It's done!

I've got all my shopping done, except for a few stocking stuffers. Yahoooo!

We got James' bike after much trouble in an insanely crowded walmart. I went back today to get his helmet and horn. I finished up my gifts for James Sr and wrapped them this afternoon. It's hard hiding things from him. I can't leave them in the trunk (because he uses it too) and there's not a single closet that doesn't have something in it he uses. So Little James and I locked the door and wrapped really quick!

We will have to put James' bike together. Although walmart has free assembly it was much too much trouble. Are there any special tools we need? It's not like I have a workshop or anything. I have the standard apartment toolbox; screwdrivers, pliers, hammer. Oh and a drill.

It's cooled off some and this weekend was rainy so we missed the zoo. There's always next year!

We went and looked at a house on Friday. It had an awesome back yard w/ a pool but the inside needed a lot of work. The bedrooms were small (Mom's birdroom small) and the bathrooms were AWFUL. One was tiled floor to ceiling in mint green tile, the other in pink tile. Now if we had Dad living with us maybe it wouldn't be so bad

There are two more we're going to look at. One in our zip code and one on the westside. But don't ask me where the Westside is! This city is too big. I guess it's kinda far from where we are now and where we need to be to continue with James' current school and Karate. So we may end up renting for yet another year. Does this cycle never end?

I have so much laundry to do it's ridiculous. you'd think we'd been on vacation. I guess I should get on that, rather then sit at this computer all afternoon.

    In unrelated news:

I am officially in love with Carrie Underwood (american idol) She's so cute (yes I said cute) and has such a pretty voice. I guess I'll be buying that album next payday.

    13 december

    Merry Christmas

I decorated the back porch today! Finally! I hung white twinkles lights on the bottom half of the screen. I hung the ball of lights and then did a strand of big bulbs around the door and window. I didn't feel like going down and look so I'm just going to wait for James' oppinion when he gets home from work.

Still haven't finished those finger puppets. But I will, I promise. James Sr said they needed ears, but I haven't had a chance to show him the one I made. I personally don't like it, but maybe he has an idea for improvement.

Mom suggested I get James a bigger bike and I was horrified at how expensive they were. But w*mart has the same bike (huffy) in a 16 inch for only $5 more. GREAT! I'll have to send James to get it and the Karate stuff this weekend.

It's been chilly here and I am so glad. It makes it feel a little more like christmas and I enjoy not sweating all the time.

James has his 2nd graduation on Tuesday the 20th. He'll be testing for his yellow belt. I can't believe we've been doing this for 4 months now!

Bath time for little boys. And some peace and quiet for me :)

*PS* James was very excited to get a package from Aunt Barbi and Uncle Greg today! He very much wanted to open it but it's safe under the tree!
    09 december

    Treat bags

I don't know why I sign up tp bring them. I should sign up for something cheap and easy like juice or cookies.

But I like making crafts for them. I just finished my Reindeer Candy Canes. I am going to make some reindeer finger puppets also. I saw them at World Market and thought they'd be easy (and much cheaper) to make. Just simple felt. I spent  about $1.50 (the cost of one at W.M.) I thought it was more but I miscalculated.

I was gonna take a picture but realized I left my camera in the car.

James Jr and I are both hacking and sniffling. I think James Sr. is catching it, poor him. He's making bananna bread right now. It will be delicious as always but I don't like it. Apple cinnamon would be great though!

I am so glad that my work week is over. We have Karate tomorrow and then we can relax for a bit. I still have some shopping to do, but nothing major. I mailed my cards (and my ticket) out today.

I finsihed Chris' stocking but it was goofier then imaginable, so scratch that idea. I don't know what happened, the other one I made looks just fine. I do have an extra plain red one, maybe I will glitter his name onto it, since he doesn't even have a store bought one.

    Time for dinner, BLT's, mmmmmm!
    08 december

    my stuffy nose

is turning into a throat tickle. I HATE throat tickles.

In other news, I got my first paycheck, even though it was not there on Friday. I am guessing they came after I checked. But I have it and can now pay that darn speeding ticket.

I don't feel like going to work today, even if it is for a measly 3 hours. I want to crawl back into bed. But I have to drive James to work and little James to school, so up and about I am. They are both still alseep, even though we leave in 30 minutes.

I am waiting for James' chef coat to dry so I can hem the sleeves. I already did once but not properly.

I need a cough drop, one of those ones that numbs your mouth. Sucrets? I think so.
But for now my Walmart brand "halls" will have to do.

Have a lovely day. It's raining here but hot. Crazy! I can't believe it's 65 degrees in December.
    06 december

    Achhh I'm sick....

I hate being sick. I have a head cold and it's awful. Hopefully it will go away soon! I am currently tired, stuffy and a bit light headed. I am only awake because Boston Legal comes on tonight. Nothing new going on. Just working on Chris' stocking.

    04 december

I may never get them done, update at the end.

I can't get my printer to work. I reinstalled the software but still nothing. I am still fiddling with it but don't really know what's wrong.

We made the glitter pine cones last night, James had a blast. Now he wants to glitter everything! I just have to add the ribbon to hang them. I thought about taking the extra bag I have to school but James sr. said they probably won't like the mess. It wasn't that bad. I bought little vials of glitter that you shake. But even the way mom told me (glitter in bowl and roll around) didn't seem too messy, you just need to have a little control over the situation. I laid down a sheet of brown package paper and it was fine. The paper is messy but nothing else......

James is at work. Since it's Sunday I got to sleep in! Eventually little James came in to watch cartoons in my bed (even though he has his own tv.) Then he got all nutty and started jumping and rolling and all that fun stuff, so I HAD to get up. But getting up at 9 is way better then 6.

My black moor fish is really beginning to look like a goldfish. The only parts still black are his head and back. I really hope he doesn't die, or more importantly kill $1.88. I know I shouldn't have a favorite but I do. Sad that I care so much for a goldfish!  But I have grown attatched. We went to PetSmart yesterday and they had Dogs out for adoption (usually it's just cats) and James liked petting them through the cage. Then a man came in with his nutty boxer and James jumped into my arms. The boxer wasn't being mean, picture fred black getting wiggly and jumpy. Even I hate when they do that.

We went to World Market also and it was HUGE! Like 3 of the one in Mentor. They had such cute Christmas stuff. James found some cute (cheap) dinosaur ornaments, and then I couldn't pull him out of the stocking stuffer aisle. I'll have to pick a day to go alone because it was all cute and mostly inexpensive. He really wanted a harmonica. I am tempted to buy it, even though I know it'll be VERY annoying.

I have nothing to do today, besides try to get this printer working. I really want to make my ornaments.

    ~ Update at 11:31 am. ~
Dad has informed me that my ink is probably dried out. Isn't that fantastic. I didn't realize this could happen. So at one point I had a new cartridge of ink, but no longer. So I don't think I will be making ornaments after all. ~
    03 december

    It's nap time, shhhh

James is down for his nap. I can't take him anywhere unless he has one!

He had fun at Karate. They did obsticle courses today.

I think I am going to decorate the backporch, even though I said I was over it. I noticed a lot of other people did there's so I figured why not. It won't be as painful as in MS because the Sun isn't beaming on it ALL day. I think just my light ball and maybe a few strands framing the door/window/screen.

I am starving, even though I ate breakfast.

After lunch I think I am gonna work on my ornaments. My HP printer is out of color ink, so I was waiting. But then I realized my Lexmark has a full cartridge. It's a hassle to plug it in but at least I won't have to spend $30  Sweeeeet!

    02 december

    So glad I'm seasonal

Although I am hard to hate() it's easy for me to hate others. Everyone at work seems to like me. Except the stupid manager who shouldn't be one. I have a feeling he dislikes the cashiers, more so the woman I really enjoy. I noticed he is not rude to his stock crew (all women) just us at the front end. He tried to banish me to crafts today. I refused, but in a nice way. I had a purpose and 5 minutes before he came throwing his weight around, the store's GM and I had already discussed why I would need to stay in Customer Service today. So I had no problem telling him no. He still questioned me but in the end got someone else to do it.

I have no desire to stay past 90 days if I will have to continue the BS with him. I don't understand why he thinks he's so high and mighty. EVERYONE else is really nice, upper management included.

    ------

We have Karate tomorrow and I am gonna do a little (very little) bit of shopping. James Sr works day shift so I'll have James Jr in tow. Very likely that we will end up doing nothing, since he gets so moody. Hmmm does he remind you of me, I guess it's payback.

I'm going to bed, since I still have to get up early tomorrow.
    30 november

    I don't know that I'll survive

    The land of JoAnn.

I understand it's mostly high school age girls working there that aren't the best employees. But if you're only willing to pay a bit above minimum wage that's all you're gonna get. Unless you find an unsuspecting twit like me.

Today the same manager that banished me to floral got a little smart with me. As any family member knows, I'm not that nice of a person and I can be a real jerk sometimes. Well all I did was ask him a question and he jumped down my throat with the biggest attitude. Not missing a beat I snapped right back. I could tell by his demeanor afterward he did not expect me to stand up to his rudeness. The other manager stepped in and offered me the help I needed. I wasn't asking the butthole to lift a finger for me, I just needed to know how to do it. Again I am the type that wants to do it myself after I am told how to do it the first time. So I think he will leave me alone now. Now that he realizes I am not 16 and that I really don't need this silly job.......

So other then him work is pretty fun. There is one woman who I work with that I think is AWESOME. She is sarcastic in the right situations which I love. The other girls are just that, young girls that don't have much sense. Not to stereotype but it's true. Not everyone this age is like that though.

I bought a new pair of shoes, just a pair of black flats from wal%mart. They were $3.50, can't beat that! Because I don't wear socks to work, my shoes and feet smell really bad. I have to wash them when I get off, gross isn't it? So I decided to buy some of those footy socks. Hopefully that will help because James thinks it's the grossest thing ever and has threatened to throw out my shoes.

He is at work tonight because it's the last day of the month and he has to do inventory, even though they just did it on monday. Another Crap Shack irritant. I drove since we had Karate tonight. I think I might head to Pier One and Lane Bryant. I have coupons for both. Then again maybe I won't since parking has been sparse here lately. We have been having to park a few buildings up which is a real pain especially at night.

I can't believe it's dark out already..... Makes me feel like I should be getting ready for bed.
    29 november

I am not a stock girl

Oh my 3 hour job has taken a plunge for the moment. They made me stock. Now I don't mind opening a few boxes while I am twiddling my thumbs, but they don't pay me enough to run up and down a ladder getting hot sweaty and dirty. I don't mean to sound petty but I wasn't hired to stock. Which is why I thought I was hired $6.50 an hour.  I won't be doing it again. I don't like the manager that made me do it. I think he didn't realize until today that I am not a high school student. Sad I know!

So when I got home I was TIRED. I was seriously up and down a ladder condensing GINORMOUS wreaths. And when I was done with that I had to open a GAZILLION boxes of garland. 12:30 didn't come fast enough.

We went to Outback tonight. Prices here are even more then in MS. I didn't feel like a steak, or paying $20 for it, so I got a cheeseburger and it was great! I drank 4 glasses of Lemonade. I guess I was making up for the fact that I hadn't eaten or drank anything all day. Awful aren't I?

I need to wash my shirt now.
    27 november

    photo's are up.

My tree looks a little crooked in the pictures, I guess I need to turn it. And it looks a lot better in person. I haven't figured out how to take good "night" photo's even though my bad ass new camera has a night mode. Mine still come out fuzzy.
    26 november

    Tree

We just came back from picking one out.

We got a little Frasier Fir and it is so cute. I haven't hung the ornaments yet, I think I'll do that tomorrow.

James decorated the fiberoptic one and loves it! He was so exctied to hang the ornaments himself.

I'll post photo's tomorrow too, so come back

    Black Friday

Wasn't as bad as we expected. I didn't hit any traffic while I was out. I got to work an hour early, wasn't that nice of me??? It didn't seem to be THAT busy, but maybe it was because they had every register open.

James has fun at Karate. It was Extreme Martial Arts(XMA), which is their exhitbition group, and now James wants a sword for class.

I did a little afternoon shopping. I picked up a kids Christmas CD, if anyone wants a copy.......

I think I am going to buy Polar Express. I should have done it yesterday morning when it was on sale for $14.

We're getting our tree tonight or tomorrow. We have to rearrange the furniture first. Since the living room is already crowded we'll be getting a very small tree this year. I got out all my Christmas bins out and gosh I have a lot of stuff. Since we're not decorating the backporch most of it will stay binned. I am not sure if the ocmplex will have a decorating contest but it's a little tough with the screened in porch. I hung my wreath after I changed some of the sprigs on it and I think it looks a lot better. I think we are going to put our 3ft fiber optic tree in James' room, and let him decorate it.

    I'll upload photo's once that's all done!
